Important after changing your password
Once your password has been changed, you will need to sign back in on all devices and applications that use your Kingborough Council account.
In most cases, you’ll also be asked to complete multi-factor authentication (MFA) verification.
If you don’t update your saved password on your devices, applications such as Outlook, Teams, or OneDrive may stop syncing or repeatedly prompt you to sign in.
You will need to update your password on all devices with a Kingborough Council sign-in. In most instances, you will need to provide a multi-factor authentication verification.
Password Requirements
Your password must:
- Be between 14 and 32 characters long
- Be easy for you to remember but difficult for others to guess
- Not contain personal information such as your name, birthday, or workplace
- Not be a single dictionary word
- Not be a simple number sequence such as 123456789
Creating a strong passphrase
We recommend using a passphrase instead of a traditional password.
Passphrases are longer, easier to remember, and far more secure.
A good passphrase should:
- Use four or more random words
- Be at least 14 characters long
- Avoid common sayings, song lyrics, or quotes
- Be unique and not reused across different accounts
