Add Pronouns To Your Signature and Profile

Kingborough Council supports a culture of inclusivity and respect. Sharing your pronouns helps normalise the practice, and it is entirely your choice. There is no expectation either way.

You can add them in two places, and you can do one without the other.

Your email signature

Council email signatures are managed centrally, so we make this change for you.

  1. Send us a message.
  2. Tell us the pronouns you would like added to your email signature.

Common options are He/Him, She/Her and They/Then, but tell us whatever you like to use.

We will update your signature and let you know when it is done. You can change or remove them at any time by sending another message.

This only changes your email signature. It does not change your details in any other Council system.

Your Microsoft 365 profile

You can do this one yourself. It shows in Teams, Outlook and other Microsoft apps when someone opens your profile card.

  1. Select your profile picture in the top corner of Microsoft Teams, then select your name.
  2. On your profile card, select + Pronouns or the pronouns listed..
  3. Choose from the examples or enter your own.
  4. Select Save.

To remove them later, come back to the same place and clear the field.

Other changes to your signature

Because signatures are managed centrally, send us a message for any of these too:

  • A change of position title
  • A change of name, whether legal or a preferred name
  • A change of phone number or work location
  • Anything in your signature that is wrong

For a name change, see also About your Council account. Depending on what you need, we can update your display name and email address as well.
