Request a Mobile Phone Plan
We offer different mobile phone options based on your job needs. This guide explains the standard options and how to ask for help📱
Note: Kingborough Council's managed mobile services are funded centrally, following approval by the CEO. Each Department funds New Mobile Phone devices.
Need a New Mobile Service?
Starting a new role or have been approved for a work mobile? Click the Help button and let us know you need a new mobile service. We'll check for CEO approval, set it up, and arrange delivery for you. Examples:
- Starting a new management or leadership role
- Moving into an on-call role that requires mobile access
Need a Replacement SIM?
If your Kingborough Council SIM is lost, broken, not working, doesn’t fit your new device, or you want to switch to an eSIM, click the Help button and let us know. We'll help organise a replacement for you. This applies only to Kingborough Council-managed mobile services. Examples:
- Your SIM card is damaged and won't connect to the network
- You've upgraded to a phone that uses an eSIM instead of a physical SIM
Want to Move Your Mobile to a Council Plan?
If you're currently paying for your work mobile and want to move it under a Council-funded plan, click the Help button and request the change. Please include your current phone number. We'll confirm CEO approval and set it up for you. Examples:
- You've been using your personal mobile for work and want to transfer it to Council's plan
- You've changed roles and now qualify for a Council-funded mobile
Leaving the Council or Changing Roles?
If you're leaving, changing roles, or no longer need a Council-funded mobile but want to keep your number, click the Help button and request to move your number back to a personal plan. Examples:
- You're finishing your contract and want to keep your mobile number
- You're moving to a role that no longer requires a Council mobile
Need to Change Your Mobile Number?
If you're receiving numerous unwanted calls, your role now requires a public-facing number, or you want to start fresh, click the Help button and let us know. Please include your current mobile number. This applies only to Kingborough Council-managed mobile services. Examples:
- You're being spammed or harassed by unknown numbers
- Your new role involves customer contact and needs a clean, published number
