Importing a CSV File into Spectrum
Follow the steps below to import a CSV file into Spectrum and display it on the map.
1. Add File to Map
- Click the + (plus) icon in the top right corner.
- Select Add Layer.
- Choose Add files to map temporarily.
2. Upload CSV File
- Browse to the saved location of your file.
- Select the file (must be in .csv format).
- Click Next.
3. Configure File Settings
- Tick First row is a header.
- Set the Projection:
- Select MGA2020 Zone 55 [EPSG:7855] from the dropdown.
- Tip: Type 7855 in the search bar to quickly locate the projection.
4. Assign Coordinate Fields
- Define coordinate fields as follows:
- X / Longitude → Easting
- Y / Latitude → Northing
- Note:
- CSV files may contain coordinate fields labeled as:
- X and Y
- Longitude and Latitude
- Easting and Northing
- CSV files may contain coordinate fields labeled as:
5. Add Data to Map
- Click Add.
- The data will appear on the map.
6. Adjust Layer Display (Optional)
- Click on the imported layer in the layer tab.
- Modify:
- Icon
- Colour
- Adjust styling as required.

Notes:
- This upload is temporary only.
- If the map:
- Refreshes, or

Times out
→ the file will be removed and must be re-imported.
