Change Image Quality within Nitro PDF Pro

By default, Nitro PDF Pro uses a low DPI setting to keep file sizes small, at the cost of image clarity. This can be changed to improve the image quality.

Creating a PDF using the Microsoft Office Plugin

  • Go to the Nitro Pro tab under the Microsoft Office application (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Outlook)
  • Click Advanced
  • Go to the Optimisation tab
  • Under the Images and fonts section, select Print-Ready (large file size)
  • Click OK to save the settings

OCR quality settings

  • Open Nitro PDF Pro
  • Select File > Preferences
  • Select OCR
  • Switch the Downsample Images option to 300 dpi
  • Click OK to save the setting
