Mitel End User Guide: Desk Phone, Desktop App, and Softphone Setup (Desktop & Mobile)

Important: IT must enable softphone access before you can use this feature.
1. Logging into Your Mitel Desk Phone
Requirements
- Mitel extension number
- PIN (provided by IT)
Steps
- Press Login on your Mitel desk phone.
- Enter your extension number.
- Press OK.
- Enter your PIN.
- Press OK again.
- Your phone will register and display your extension.
2. Logging into the Mitel Desktop App
Requirements
- Installed Mitel Connect or MiCollab Desktop Client
- Corporate username and password
Steps
- Open the Mitel Desktop App.
- Enter your credentials and click Sign In.
- Select your device mode:
- Desk Phone (control physical phone)
- Softphone (calls via computer)
3. Setting Up MiCollab Softphone (Desktop)
Important: IT Approval Required
Before enabling softphone, contact IT Support. Individual accounts must be adjusted for this feature.
Requirements
- MiCollab Desktop Client installed
- VPN access (if required)
- Headset with microphone
- Softphone license enabled by IT
Steps
- Confirm with IT that your account has softphone enabled.
- Connect to VPN (if required).
- Open MiCollab Desktop Client and log in.
- Go to Settings > Softphone and enable it.
- Select your audio device (headset).
- Test microphone and speakers.
- Set your status to Available.
4. Setting Up MiCollab Softphone (Mobile)
Important: IT Approval Required
Softphone access on mobile also requires IT to enable the feature.
Requirements
- MiCollab Mobile App (iOS or Android)
- Corporate credentials
- VPN access (if required)
- Softphone license enabled by IT
Steps
- Download MiCollab Mobile App from App Store or Google Play.
- Log in with corporate credentials.
- Enter server address if prompted (provided by IT).
- Go to Settings > Softphone and enable it.
- Allow microphone permissions.
- Test audio with a call.
- Set status to Available.
Tips for WFH
- Use a wired or quality Bluetooth headset.
- Keep VPN connected if required.
- Ensure strong Wi-Fi or mobile data (minimum 4G recommended).
