Pathway Mapping

Pathway can map properties using its interface with the MAPINFO and Spectrum applications.

Note: Pathway currently has access to the GIS property data in MAPINFO and Spectrum to do spatial searches for other uses, such as locating nearby data on Pathway Dashboards, MS-Excel data extracts, and other Reporting systems. Contact IT to use GIS data for queries outside of mapping.

Single property

To map a single property, you can find the property via the property form

Hint: You can navigate to a property from other forms e.g. application, names, licence, etc

On the property form, the GIS option on the left panel will open the map, highlighting the property parcel.

Multiple properties (from a dashboard - UX-Client only)

To map properties from a dashboard, you simply click on a category to display the list.

Currently working in Beta in the Pathway Training environment:

  1. Select the items from the list you would like to map from the Dashboard list
  2. Click the Teardrop icon at the bottom of the Dashboard to start the mapping.

Hint: Spectrum is best for displaying widely dispersed properties.

  1. For Spectrum, currently you have to provide your Pathway Login details (each time)

Multiple properties (from a reusable query)

To map properties from queries, you need the ‘Query’ menu option on your menus.

The general process is:

1.     If there isn’t a query that matches your enquiry, add a new query in Query >> Query Maintenance; otherwise, find the query and skip to step 3.

2.     Setup the query from a related starting point

e.g. LPAPROP for property query

LAPAPPL for application or licence query

LANANML for a dog query

ACRREQT for a customer service request query

Hint: check the Advanced option to see the SQL query created

Include or edit any filtering on dates, owners, etc. including from other related 'entities'

This requires some knowledge of what fields are available and which 'Entity' it is in to find the data. For assistance with these more complex SQL queries, log a call to IT.

3.     Process the query to store the results

-       Specify a recognisable Result Name

-       Check the number of records in the result

Hint: if there are no records results, check the query in the Advanced tab, as there may be missing links in the query.  For assistance with these more complex SQL queries, log a call to IT.

4.     Run the Query >> Display Query on GIS option

Add the same starting point as the query from step 2.

Specify the associated role that links to properties (e.g. application, location).

Select the query Result Name from the processed query in step 3.

Click the Display button and wait for the Mapping application to display the map.

5.     Reprocess the query to refresh whenever the latest data is needed.

Sample

Query >> Display Query on Web Service and URL Interface (UX Client only)

>> (Search Profile Entity) ‘LPAPROP’ >> (Query Result) ‘Property Alerts

>> Display

Query >> Display Query on Web Service and URL Interface (UX Client only)

>> (Search Profile Entity) ‘LANANML’ >> (Query Result) ‘Dog Attacks

>> Display
